why have they waited so long?

If all of Ahmadinejad's words are easily found on the web Wallace, then how come you don't include a few examples in your rebuttal with the links to those sites? And yes, it would be a good idea for Adrian to put links to the sites where he got his quotes.

Thank you for the elaborate interpretation. as an Iranian somewhat familiar with astrology, I enjoyed it very much. the chart for Islamic republic is the one on april. The February chart can be used for "revolution" which was eventually corrupted and its initial values eliminated by islamic hard liners who took over the political power in a coup like action in 1983. I guess the April chart is the best to study the republic.
Could you please elaborate more on possible elimination of republic on 2012-14? will it go back to a modern kingdom (like before '79 revolution) or the islamic hard liner will ruin all traces of democracy and establish a Taliban like Islamic Emirate?

Wallace,

It is quite easy to see which side of the fence you're on. I see Adrian's comments as astrologically sound. Whether you agree with them or not is up to you.
I take it that you have some astrology experience; then do the charts yourself......the logical progression should take you to the same place as Adrian!!

It is difficult to understand how a person who has written such exemplary astrological software, and normally writes articles filled with insight, could have fallen for such elementary propaganda as quoted in this article.

Ahmadinejad is not known to me, nor his good or evil deeds. Truth however should always be sought.

Try the biggest example. Seek out the truth of Ahmadinejad's supposed “Israel must be wiped off the map” statement, or supposed call for “the annihilation of the Zionist regime". Complete translations with original language, time, place, etc are easily found on the web.

After you convince yourself of that, I think you will understand my assertion that you can similarly confirm that most if not all of the rest of your statements on Ahmadinejad's past words and actions (non-astrological) are more libellous media falsehoods, and thus sickening gossip when you repeat it. Yes, I have gone through them all with care.

I for one hope to see you set an example among astrologers by rising above such conduct.

Nicholas Campion gives a time of 9.33am for the Feb Chart for Iran, which gives an MC of 2.47 Capricorn. Pluto stations at 2.47 Capricorn next year! I think this is the chart for the popular will and popular protest, whereas the April chart is for the State itself. This Pluto transit to the Feb MC adds to your Saturn Return argument of major structural change, but suggests it will be sooner rather than later.

I wish you were writing more columns in Mtn. Astrologer. Some of the stuff they print is really belongs in sun sign astrology columns in newspapers!
--- Saturn in Libra will speak to/activate venus transits for the next 2.5 yrs (taking us to 2012)(money, marriage, beauty, etc.) I think your insights are extraordinary. Will you be addressing the cardinal square with regard to Venus (last april the retrograde of Venus seeded huge changes in the way we value commerce via the stockmarket)
thanks for your work,
DChausse

You're right, Adrian. I was consulting on the Shah's library project at the time of the Islamic Revolution. At that time Iran was a modern nation at least in the cities, where women sported the latest international fashions and held prestigious positions. An Iranian woman had even set flying records and become one of the first female commercial pilots.

The rebels could not agree on any form of new legitimacy, so as often happens they fell back on what they imagined to be the old system, forgetting that in reality the old system had been administered by Quadis, or Koranic legal experts, not by religious leaders. Moreover the Quadis had striven to resolve family disagreements and mediate legal disputes rather than prosecute and punish them.

So the Shah's police state was simply replaced by a new one, which had to constantly demonize the US,(it had supported the Shah) in order to stay in power. The clerics were not happy to be made the bad guys and have to bow to a tame Ayatollah either. In fact it is quite likely that much of the opposition to the present regime comes indirectly from them.

Now the Iranian people are fed up as well with a "republic" that is viewed as ridiculous and dangerous even in the Islamic world. As you point out, the Internet (Mercury) and its unrestricted access to information has played a key role in this.

I would be surprised if the current government lasts through the year. The fact that Iranian moderate leaders are now coming out of hiding and the people are willing to face military police on the street indicates to me that the end is not far off.
