I can only say - Try it. Print out the Consultation Chart. Assume your client is the Ascendant ruler. Check out its movements. Read some horary. For a full consultation, I erect a natal chart, a progressed chart, and then add the current transits (mainly the outer planets) to the mix, noting, in addition, if there are any significant returns recent or upcoming. By taking all these factors into account, I can usually move into the consultation with a good, basic idea of what's going on, how it's unfolding, and how the client is likely to be reacting. How does erecting a horary chart for the consultation differ?
